Our 3rd Annual Norris Fun Run was held Friday, October 27th. We raised over $20,500.

Thank you to all of our friends, family, teachers, and staff who donated in 2017-18! A big thank you to our parent volunteers who helped things run smoothly that day keeping kids hydrated. We appreciate our sponsors: Charles Schwab and iKids Education.



Our students earned 3 incentives:

  •  Silly Sock Day (Met our $10,000 goal)
  •  Crazy Hat or Hair Day (Met our $15,000 goal)
  •  PJ Day (Met our $20,000 goal)
These days will be awarded on the following dates:
  • Wednesday, Nov 15th – Silly Sock Day
  • Thursday, Nov 16th – Crazy Hat or Hair Day
  • Friday, Nov 17th (Norris Now Day) – PJ Day
November 17th at Norris Now the Top Class in each grade level winners will be announced as well as the classrooms who met their individual classroom goals. The 3 student raffles winners will be drawn.


Frequently Asked Questions

What is it? The Fun Run is Norris PTA’s major fundraiser. Students collect donations and turn them in over a three-week period. Each student will receive a free Grade Level Class T-shirt to be worn at the Fun Run and also on class field trips, field day and throughout the year. Students could also receive emoji clips and raffle tickets based on donations collected. As a way of promoting fun and fitness, the students will warm up with some fun dancing and then run/walk around a small track for 20-30 minutes on October 27th. This is our major fundraiser for the entire school year!

What will the PTA use these funds for?  This year we have a goal of:

  • Enhancing the literacy libraries by purchasing valuable guided reading book sets
  • Purchasing integral classroom resources and curriculum materials to benefit students
  • Providing students educational programs throughout the school year

How much do we need to raise this year? In order to meet our budget needs and to continue to provide and improve great programs and events, the Fun Run needs to raise at least $21,000.

Who can donate? Students are encouraged to ask their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors (no door to door selling for the safety of the children), family friends, or anyone else who cares about their education, to contribute to the fun run. Students are encouraged to write letters, send emails, and make phone calls in support of this goal!!

What about matching funds? Please help your student ask all donators if they work for a corporation that will match their personal donation with corporate matching funds. Company matching funds can potentially be thousands of dollars extra for our school.

When is the actual Fun Run event? On Friday, October 27th Norris Elementary students will participate in a Fun  Run during the school day. Students will run/walk for 20 minutes around a small track while parents and classmates cheer them on. There will be two water stations located around the track, as well. We encourage parents to come out, support and watch their child run.

Who is running this event? This event is put on by the Norris PTA. That means YOU! We can’t make this event happen without many volunteers. Please consider volunteering!
